CUP OF
TRUST
Vision/exhortation

Recently I was worshipping
out under the stars on the Canadian border. God came powerfully, and in a vision
He came and set a large glass in front of me. This glass was tall, way taller
than I am!
I was astounded by the size and magnitude of this glass. I
asked Him, 'Lord, what is this cup?'
He responded: "This is my CUP OF
TRUST, and I want you to drink of it! You have been drinking out of the wrong
cup for many years, the cup of worry and fear, and you have poisioned yourself
as a result. Your spirit, soul, emotions and even body have been adversely
affected!"
Completely sobered, shocked, and convicted, I was speechless
for a long time!
Since then the Lord has been reconditioning me to drink
from the cup of trust daily. I have been a Christian for over 40 years, yet I
have been sipping, even gulping, out of the wrong cup for too many years! So
now, daily I have been coming to the Lord, and bringing all those seemingly
little, menacing worries, fears, etc to Him, bringing them to the light, and
saying, ok, Lord, here they are, I CHOOSE to NOT listen to them and their lies,
but instead, I will DRINK deeply TODAY of your cup of trust!
The gospel
of Jesus Christ is so simple. Yet we make it so hard. He says in Matthew
11:28-30 to come unto Me, all who are weary, heavy laden...take My yoke upon
you, for its easy and light. Psalm 37 says to trust in the Lord with ALL
your heart..and lean NOT unto your understanding...and HE will make make our
paths straight. It seems like our human nature is to add dead works, laws,
religion, conditions, to the simplicty of Jesus words and His kingdom. And all
this is a result of drinking out of the wrong cup; the fear of rejection, the
fear of failure, the fear of not being accepted, not making it, etc.
Trust is simple for a child. And Jesus said 'to such as these (little
children) the kingdom belongs!'
We keep crying out for His kingdom to
come! How we long for signs, wonders, etc, for great. moves of the Spirit, for
evangelism, etc. Yet we dont see many answers to these prayers. Could it be we
have been drinkng from the wrong cup, that cup of fear, doubt, unbelief, fear of
rejection, failure, etc, for so long our own spirits are weak and impotent, and
we are not able to RELEASE His dunamis miracle working power into others, or
even recieve it for ourselves? Have many not come to Christ because too many of
us are paralyzed by fear of man to be able to open our mouths and share the
gospel with our neighbors, co-workers? We need to ask Jesus to help us begin
drinking from the CUP OF TRUST.
Lord, bring us back to the simplicty of
the gospel. That you are FOR us, and not agains us. That greater is He who is
within us, than He who is in the world. That we need not worry, that all of our
hairs on our heads are numbered. Remind us WHO made us, WHO leads us, and that
YOU hold us in the palm of Your hand, and you will ner leave or forsake
us. And most of all, when we take little 'sips' from the wrong cup, let our
spiritual senses immediately sound an alarm, and let us turn away, and instead,
give us grace to drink from your CUP OF TRUST!
